Judith Lynn Brown, of Prestonsburg, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday October 11, 2017.
Born July 21, 1957 in Prestonsburg to John Forrest and Pasty Jett Brown, she made her home in Prestonsburg and worked with her family at Brown Foodservice in Louisa for 35 years.
During her life Lynn served 34 years in various roles including President and member in the Prestonsburg Chapter of the PEO Sisterhood, an international women’s organization focused on providing educational opportunities for female students. She was involved in her church, teaching Sunday School at the First United Methodist Church in Prestonsburg for many years. Lynn was an avid craftsperson, crocheting and painting scarfs, hats, and purses for many friends and family. She also loved cooking (known for her fudges and other desserts), decorating her home each season, and enjoying travel and movies.
Ms. Brown was a graduate of Prestonsburg High School and attended the University of Kentucky. After college she had one child, James Daniel Neeley of Lexington. In addition to her son, Lynn is survived by her mother Patsy Brown of Lexington, sisters Lisa Kaye Doller of Lexington & Laura Ann Kegley of Louisa, brother Tom Brown of Lexington, niece Janie Kegley and brothers in law Dale Doller and Ed Kegley. She was preceded in death by her father John Forrest Brown.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday October 15, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Prestonsburg.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, with services following.
