OCTOBER 3, 2017

Future LCHS Bulldogs have won two in a row

Louisa 38 Raceland 36 ( Overtime )

The Louisa Middle School Dawgs won a thriller over the Raceland Rams on 8th grade night in what could be their final home game of the season. Mason Preston hit Blue Fletcher through the air for a 60 yard touchdown. Preston then hit Dylan Moore from 12 yards out for his second TD pass of the night. Trent Younce scored the third touchdown on the ground, Preston did it on his own from 60 yards out and Logan Southers ran in the two point conversion.

On the first play of overtime Younce ran it in from 10 yards out and Preston ran in the two point conversion to capture the victory.

The LMS Dawgs celebrated their OT victory over Raceland.

Louisa 28 Greenup Co. 18

The Dawgs hit the road and came away with a comeback victory over the Musketeers last week.

Blue Fletcher got the Dawgs on the scoreboard to make it 8-6. The Bulldog defense came up big making a stop inside the 5 yard line on four straight plays but then suffered a safety to trail 10-6 at Halftime.

First drive of the second half Trent Younts ran a long touchdown to make it 12-10. Greenup scored to retake the lead 18-12 going into the 4th quarter.

But Blue Fletcher scored on the next possession for the Dawgs to tie it up and Fletcher ran in the two point conversion to give the Bulldogs a 20-18 lead. Fletcher had two TD’s and two PAT’s on the night.

The defense stopped the Musketeers on the next series and Younts busted a 60 yd touchdown and Fletcher ran in the two point conversion to make it 28-18. Lawson Baisden came up with a turnover on next series to secure the victory as the Dawgs ran out the clock.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… It’s been a fun season watching this team grow. We’ve been hit with a lot of adversity especially losing one of our best players RB/LB ( Dylan Ferguson ) right out of the gates. We made some adjustments going into the Paintsville game (1 of the top ranked teams in KY beat Belfry almost 40 at Belfry, beat Pikeville etc). We had the ball with a chance to beat them but ran out of time on the 35. Fumbled on 1 and had TD called back on Russell.

“…Last two weeks came from behind to beat Raceland and Greenup (who had only lost to Central at that time). The kids are really playing confident football right now. It’s been fun watching them become a team.”
