ARREST RATES SLOW DOWN IN LAWRENCE COUNTY AND ESPECIALLY IN SURROUNDING COUNTIES, DUE TO THE HIGH NUMBER OF INMATES INCARCERATED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL JAIL (INCLUDING TAKING IN SEVERAL INMATES FROM THE BOYD COUNTY JAIL TO SERVE JAIL PLEA AFTER IT WAS PARTIALLY SHUT DOWN BECAUSE OF THE RIOT THE OTHER DAY. THE INMATE COUNT AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE ON FRIDAY MORNING AUGUST 25 AT 2:30 A.M. WAS AT 288. THE MAXIMUM DESIGNATED CAPACITY OF THE BSRDC IS 225 INMATES.

IN THE PAST SEVEN DAYS FROM 12:01 A.M. AUGUST 18 THRU 11:59 P.M. AUGUST 24; OUT OF THE AT LEAST 77 INMATES BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE , 13 OF THEM WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY. PLUS ANOTHER FOUR LAWRENCE RESIDENTS WERE BOOKED IN OTHER JURISDICTIONS (3 IN MARTIN COUNTY, AND 1 IN CAMPBELL COUNTY).

THAT IS COMPARED BEFORE THAT TO THE PREVIOUS PERIOD OF EIGHT+ DAYS FROM 9:45 P.M. AUGUST 10 THRU 11:59 P.M. AUGUST 17; OUT OF THE AT LEAST 116 INMATES BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE , 18 OF THEM WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY. PLUS ANOTHER FOUR LAWRENCE RESIDENTS WERE BOOKED NEIGHBORING JURISDICTIONS ( 2 IN BOYD COUNTY, ONE IN JOHNSON COUNTY, AND 1 IN MARTIN COUNTY).

HERE ARE THE LATEST 13 ARRESTS FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY ( AND THE 4 LAWRENCE COUNTY CITIZENS OUT OF COUNTY ARRESTS ) LISTED BELOW:

Tyler L. BranhamTyler L. Branham, 33, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; was booked on August 18, 2017, at 3:54 A.M., after being taken into custody by deputy Dwayne Bowen of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence: • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.

 

 

 

 

Jasmine MullinsJasmine Mullins, 20, of Louisa, was arrested on August 18, 2017, at 5:30 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged, with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE).

 

 

 

 

Heather S. SavageHeather S. Savage, 40, of Fort Gay, West Virginia; was arrested on August 19, 2017, at 4:30 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged, with: • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

 

 

 

 

 

Carl BowenCarl Bowen, 47, of Dunlow, West Virginia; was arrested on August 19, 2017, at 7:27 P.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER, • BURGLARY, 3RD DEGREE.

 

 

 

 

Segar AdkinsSegar Adkins, 19, of Louisa, was arrested on August 20, 2017, at 1:13 A.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged, with: • RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER/$500.

Charles Thompson, 26, of Fredericktown, Ohio; was arrested on August 20, 2017, at 1:15 A.M., by patrolman officer Julius Musick of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 2ND DEGREE (ON FOOT), • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES) 1ST OFFENSE, • DISREGARDING TRAFFIC CONTROLLED DEVICE-TRAFFIC LIGHT, • RECKLESS DRIVING.

William Arthur CassadyWilliam Arthur Cassady, 28, of Fort Gay, West Virginia; was arrested on August 20, 2017, at 9:25 P.M., by patrolman officer Julius Musick of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE, • FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD, • NO OTHER STATE REGISTRATION RECEIPT, • NO REGISTRATION PLATES, • RECKLESS DRIVING, • FAILURE TO OR IMPROPER SIGNAL.

 

 

 

Tammy N. AkersTammy N. Akers, 35, of Fort Gay, West Virginia; was booked on August 21, 2017, at 2:19 P.M., after being taken into custody by an officer of the Lawrence County Jail Transport, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence: • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.

Jude, 34, of Huntington, West Virginia; was arrested on August 23, 2017, at 4:14 A.M., by deputy Mack Wilhite of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • FALSELY REPORTING AN INCIDENT, • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3RD DEGREE, • OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE, • FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 2ND OFFENSE.
