18 ARRESTS IN LAST SEVEN DAY PERIOD IN LAWRENCE CO.

309 PRISONERS BELIEVED TO BE A RECORD AT BSRDC

LAWRENCE COUNTY ARREST LIST – AUGUST 10-17, 2017

FROM AUGUST 1 THRU AUGUST 17, THERE HAVE BEEN  A WHOPPING 286 PRISONERS WHO WERE BROUGHT INTO THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE TO BE BOOKED.

ON SATURDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 12, THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER  REACHED AN ALL TIME RECORD NUMBER OF INMATES THAT WERE BEING INCARCERATED, HITTING AT LEAST 309, IN A FACILITY THAT WAS DESIGNED FOR A MAXIMUM CAPACITY OF 225, AND REPORTEDLY HAS AN ADDITIONAL 75 RESERVE BED MATS. 

STARTING ON MONDAY, A LOTS OF INMATES BEGAN BONDING OUT, AND BY TUESDAY MORNING THE NUMBER OF INCARCERATED PRISONERS HAD DROPPED TO 280. IT HAS STAYED IN THE 280+ RANGE ALL THIS WEEK.

THE NUMBER DROPPED WAS ALSO HELPED BY NEIGHBORING COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES’ ARRESTS RATE LEVELS DIPPING BELOW NORMAL STARTING ON SUNDAY AND THRU MOST THE WEEK. LAWRENCE COUNTY HOWEVER ARREST NUMBERS WENT TO ABOVE NORMAL PACE SINCE LATE LAST WEEK, MAINLY BECAUSE OF A NEW ROUND OF GRAND JURY INDICTMENTS OF 27 PEOPLE LAST WEEK.

IN THE EIGHT+ DAYS FROM 9:45 P.M. AUGUST 10 THRU 11:59 P.M. AUGUST 17; OUT OF THE AT LEAST 116 INMATES BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE , 18 OF THEM WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY. PLUS ANOTHER FOUR LAWRENCE RESIDENTS WERE BOOKED NEIGHBORING JURISDICTIONS ( 2 IN BOYD COUNTY, ONE IN JOHNSON COUNTY, AND 1 IN MARTIN COUNTY).

THAT IS COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS SIX AND A HALF DAYS FROM 12:00 P.M. JULY 27 THRU 11:59 P.M. AUGUST 2; OUT OF THE AT LEAST 85 INMATES BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE , 13 OF THEM WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY. PLUS ANOTHER LAWRENCE RESIDENT WAS BOOKED IN A NEIGHBORING JURISDICTION.

James GannonJames Gannon, 39, of Williamson, West Virginia; was arrested on August 9, 2017, at 9:45 P.M., by a trooper of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • ALCOHOL INTOXICATION IN A PUBLIC PLACE (1ST & 2ND OFFENSE).

 

 

 

 

 

Joey MillsJoey Mills, 64, of Louisa, was arrested on August 10, 2017, at 5:03 A.M., by patrolman officer Steven Wilburn of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 2ND OFFENSE.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Christina K. FairchildChristina K. Fairchild, Moore, 30, of Lomansville, Kentucky; was arrested on August 11, 2017, at 4:20 P.M., by chief deputy Mark Wheeler of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL), • DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 1ST DEGREE, • HARASSMENT – PHYSICAL CONTACT – NO INJURY.

Stevens, 59, of Louisa, was arrested on August 11, 2017, at 6:10 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged, via a grand jury indictment, with: • DRIVING DUI SUSPENDED LICENSE – 3RD OFFENSE (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES), • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 3RD OFFENSE, • POSSESSION OF OPEN ALCOHOL BEVERAGE CONT IN MOTOR VEHICLE PROHIBITED, • FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE.

Blankenship, 44, of Louisa, was arrested on August 12, 2017, at 12:13 A.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged, via a grand jury indictment, with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS ( 2 SEPARATE COUNTS), • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 2ND DEGREE – CODEINE, • TRAFFICKING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WITHIN 1,000 FEET OF SCHOOL, • TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE, • PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER I, • UNLAWFUL TRANSACTION W/MINOR 3RD DEGREE, • RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER/$500.

Shannon EvansShannon Evans, 32, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on August 17, 2017, at 1:59 A.M., by chief deputy Dwayne Bowen of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION AUTO – UNDER $500.

 

 

 

 

Tommy Lee CantrellTommy Lee Cantrell, 50, of Louisa, was arrested on August 10, 2017, at 2:11 A.M., by an officer of the Ashland Police Department, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/ DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Kizer D. SandersonKizer D. Sanderson, 26, of Louisa, who was arrested on August 8, 2017, at 5:45 P.M., by an officer of the Ashland Police Department, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR ( 2 SEPARATE COUNTS ), and was given a bond that was set at $698.

On August 10, 2017, Kizer D. Sanderson was transferred to the Big Sandy Regional Detention in Paintsville, where upon being searched, was discovered to have hidden on himself unknown drug components, Kizer D. Sanderson was given a new additional charge of: • PROMOTING CONTRABAND – 2ND DEGREE.

 

 

 

 

 

Mary E. TomblinMary E. Tomblin, 32, of Lomansville, Kentucky; was booked on August 11, 2017, at 6:07 P.M., after being taken into custody by the Johnson County Sheriff Department, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence: • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
