John Alfred Rice 

1940 — 2017

John Alfred Rice of Webbville was called home to his Lord and Savior early Wednesday morning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine Rice of Little Blaine, his wife Johnda, and a son James Scott.

John Alfred is survived by a daughter, Angie of Webbville, a younger sister, Virginia Queen of Louisa, an older brother, Ira Leon “Pete” Rice of Owinsville. John also loved dearly his nieces and nephews of which many called him Papaw.

He was born February 11, 1940 and was employed as a butcher. He loved to raccoon and fox hunt with friends and even farmed for a time. John is very much loved and respected by countless people whose lives he’s touched. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Waterson Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Rice Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, August 14, 2017 at Young Funeral Home Chapel.
