Marjorie Sue Thompson Lester

1921 — 2017

Marjorie Sue Thompson Lester, 95, of Louisa, Kentucky passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Marjorie was born December 27, 1921 at Irish Creek, Kentucky a daughter of the late William and Maude Roberts Thompson.

Marjorie was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church, she was a retired grocery store clerk and had worked as a clerk for over 20 years. Marjorie was very proud to have been a Rosie Riveter in World War II and spoke of it often.

In addition to her parents, William and Maude Thompson, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Lester, and two brothers, Charles William Thompson and Earl Thompson.

Survivors include her children, Sam (Deanna) Lester of Louisa, Kentucky; Sherry (Jerry) King of Loveland, Ohio; Jim (Rose) Lester of Louisa, Kentucky; Grandchildren, Georgie Howard, Jarah Bailey, Matt King, Melanie Lester Sparks, and Marc Lester; 5 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Louisa, Kentucky.

Visitation will be 5:00pm until 8:00pm Friday, June 9, 2017 at Young Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Elizabeth Baptist Church or Ashland Community Hospice . Online condolences may be left for the family at http://www.youngfuneralhomeinc.com/
