THE FACE OF A MAN WHO SLAUGHTERED THREE INNOCENT VICTIMS … WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY AGAIN, JUDGE RULES

Jack D. Smith

JACK D. SMITH RECEIVES 3 LIFE SENTENCES WITHOUT PAROLE FOR 2014 MARTIN COUNTY TRIPLE MURDER

MAY 13, 2017 – written by WADE QUEEN

An Inez man will spend the rest of life behind bars for his role in the murder of three people in Martin County nearly three years ago.

43 year old Jack D. Smith was in Lawrence County Circuit Court on Friday morning May 12, where due to the high profile nature of the crime, his case was moved to from Martin County to Lawrence County court, where had there been a trial, Smith would have been tried for his crimes in Louisa.

On the conclusion of his triple murder case, Jack Smith ultimately received three sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole on each of the three murder charges.

Smith pleaded guilty last month to shooting and stabbing Tina Goble, her boyfriend Cainie Johnson Jr. and Goble’s 8-year-old granddaughter Trinity Maynard.

The three were found inside a burned out house in Inez back in August 2014.

Numerous family members of the three murder victims gave statements to Jack Smith during the sentencing.

Jack D. Smith in court for sentencing

JACK D. SMITH LOOKS ONWARD AS SEVERAL FAMILY MEMBERS OF THE 3 PEOPLE HE CONFESSED TO KILLING, AS THEY ONE BY ONE, GIVE VICTIM STATEMENTS TO HIM IN THE COURT ROOM DURING HIS SENTENCING IN THE TRIPLE MURDER CASE.

“She will never go on a date, go to her first prom, she won’t get to walk across the stage to accept her high school diploma and I’ll never get to help her pick out her prom dress, pick out her wedding dress and help her plan her dream wedding,” Trinity’s great-grand mother said.

In an act of mercy that surprised people watching in court, Tina Goble’s sister expressed a move of spiritual forgiveness, as she gave Jack Smith a Bible she hopes that Smith will read.

“I just wanted him to know that hell is real and God’s love can get you through anything,” Lowanda Slone, Tina’s sister, stated after the sentencing hearing.

“I just pray for him.” Slone further added, as another family member added remarks of her grief that hopefully will be tempered by the faith of of the belief of life in the afterworld paradise, while she also herself showed a shade of forgiveness for Smith

“My daughter, my grand baby, my son-in-law, we will not get back but we just pray that some day we’ll see them again and I pray God has mercy on Jack’s soul,” Tina’s mother, Wanda Sartin said.

Smith gave no remarks before his sentencing and showed no emotions during the entire affair process.

Jack Smith is now currently being held at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Painstville, where he soon awaits to be taken to a maximum security prison to spend the rest of his natural life

Jack Smith’s girlfriend and his brutal partner in the heinous crime, Amanda Bowen, was convicted of the three murders, as well as arson, in Johnson County court in her trial case last month. She is scheduled to be sentenced on May 19.
