WAYNE COUNTY SHERIFF: FOUR BUSTED ON DRUG SELLING CHARGES

Sheriff Rick Thompson announced today that on Wednesday, May 3rd, the US Marshall’s Cuffed Task Force arrested four suspects on a drug warrant sweep that was the result of an undercover investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department Drug Enforcement Unit.

Jimmy Merrit and Melissa HantonTwo of the suspects, Jimmy Merritt and Andrew Maynard III had been arrested in the past by the WCSD Drug Enforcement Unit.

Merritt is currently on probation for a drug conviction by the WCSD Drug Enforcement Unit and Maynard had just completed a probation sentence from drug charges. Both were felony charges made from a few years ago by the WCSD Drug Enforcement Unit.

Jimmy Merritt, Andrew Maynard III, and Melissa Hanlon are each charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy. Christopher Clark is charged with aiding and abetting Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy.

All suspects are from the Wayne area.
