Ciana Bowen allowed no hits, no runs, one walk and struck out 22 hitters in 10 innings the last two games. Louisa, Ky. —  Lawrence Co. Junior pitcher Ciana Bowen was one walk away from throwing back to back perfect games this week. Both games were five inning mercy shortened wins. First game was a 14-0 victory over Magoffin Co. on Tuesday in Salyersville and then a 10-0 victory over Shelby Valley at Home on Thursday night.

Lawrence Co. improved to 10-8 on the season and have won three in a row overall.

The Lady Dawgs played small ball in both victories while putting pressure on the opposing defense. Natalie Rice, Keyarah Bowen, Halli Caudill, Amber Triplett and Bowen all had base knocks.

Bowen walked a batter in the 4th inning on Tuesday night but threw a five inning no hitter vs Magoffin Co. while she struck out 12 batters.

On Thursday night vs Shelby Valley  Bowen struck out 10 of the 15 hitters she faced for the perfect game.

The Lady Dawgs will return to action on Monday at Phelps and will host Chesapeake, Oh on Tuesday night.

“… Tonight was a good win for us. Defense had my back tonight, they have the past few games. It makes it a lot easier to pitch when you know you can trust your defense. My spins were working and everything fell into place! Excited to play Phelps Monday and keep our #1 spot in the district!”
