William “Bill” Francis Rice

1940 – 2017

William “Bill” Francis Rice, 76 of Louisa passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Pikeville Medical Center.

Bill was born on March 28, 1940 in Johnson County Kentucky to the late Roy and Ollie Vanhoose-Rice. He was a loving husband and man of god. Mr. Rice was of the Baptist Faith and pastored many churches in his life and was a truck driver in the logging industry for many years.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two children Kathy Jean Mynhier and William Gregory Rice; one grandchild Mary Elizabeth Mynhier and two siblings Kay Fairchild and Leon Rice.

Survivors include his devoted and caring wife Alice Jean Lyons-Rice of Louisa; one daughter Karen Lynn Hubbard (Joseph) of Proctorville, Ohio; six grandchildren Samantha Stone of Kenova, WV, Sonny Mynhier (KayDe) of Louisa, KY, Jordan Kestner (Jammie) of Prestonsburg, KY, Shelby Rice, Hannah Rice and Tanner Rice all of VanLear, KY; three great grandchildren Aiden, Lizzie “Blondie” and Adeline; two siblings Seth Paul Rice and Stella McCarty; one son-in-law William Darrell Mynhier; one daughter-in-law Lori Rice as well as many friends and extended family.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Young Funeral Home Chapel in Louisa with burial to follow at the Clark-Castle Cemetery in Johnson County.

Visitation will be from 4-9 pm at the Young Funeral Home on Sunday, March 5, 2017.
