Louisa, Ky. — It was national signing day on the collegiate level yesterday all across the country and one of the biggest days in a high school senior’s life. It was also signing day at Louisa Middle School as twenty soon to be freshmen signed on to be Bulldogs and play football at Lawrence Co. high school in the fall.

LC Head Coach addressing the crowd at the middle school during yesterday's event.Head Coach Alan Short and assistant Bryan Short along with family and friends witnessed the 8th Graders making a commitment just like the big boys around the nation.

These kids have been around the weight room and been in contact with the coaches getting prepared to make one of the biggest steps going from middle school into high school.

By signing this letter of intent these young men have made a commitment to further their football playing career as a member of the Lawrence Co. football program. The coaching staff is excited and honored to add them to the program.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Alan Short

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… We met as a staff to see what we could do to honor our young guys sometimes the young guys get left behind and we want to welcome them with open arms into our program. They have been with us in the weight room and such but this was a way to honor them in front of family and friends. Transition from middle school to high school is a big one and we want to make that as easy as possible for the young guys. We got 20 here today and hopefully we can get to about 25 freshmen in a perfect world. We will still take guys once camp opens up. Real excited for today, appreciate everyone coming out to share this experience.”
