In the nightcap it was the Bulldogs jumping all over Phelps 21-4 after one period to take the sting out of the Hornets right off the bat. The Dawgs led 36-19 at half. In the second half it was more of the same as LC poured it on to get a runaway district victory.

The Bulldogs put three in double figures including the nation’s leading scorer Timmy Dalton pouring in 37 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. Alex Gilliam tallied 11 points and Jared Wellman chipped in with 10 points. Lawrence Co. Girls Head Coach Melinda Feltner

COACH’S COMMENT

“… We fell behind early and couldn’t buy a basket early on, we continue to struggle to shoot the basketball, we are off balance when shooting the ball and keep missing easy shots around the basket.” It was good to battle back and get the win. Was proud of the girls in the second half the way they responded.”
