Versailles, Ky. – Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) President Jay Box has named Dr. Alan Scheibmeir interim president/CEO at Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC). He served as president of Grayson College in Denison, Texas, from 1996-2012. Prior to that, he was vice president for instructional services at the college. He served in other leadership positions at Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas. He also has broad teaching experience.
Scheibmeir earned a bachelor of arts degree and a master of science degree from Ft. Hays Kansas State University. He completed a doctor of philosophy degree in education administration from the Community College Leadership Program at the University of Texas at Austin. He also attended the Institute for Educational Management Program conducted by the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
He begins his service at BSCTC Jan. 2.
