LAWRENCE COUNTY ARREST LIST – NOVEMBER 1-8, 2016

 

NOVEMBER 9, 2016 

ARRESTS WERE AT NEAR NORMAL WEEKLY AVERAGE IN LAWRENCE COUNTY, BUT FOR THE SURROUNDING AREA COUNTIES, ARRESTS WERE BELOW THEIR WEEKLY AVERAGE IN THE LAST WEEK. IN FACT, SINCE THE WEEKEND, THE ARREST NUMBERS FOR LAWRENCE COUNTY AND ESPECIALLY THE OTHER COUNTIES THAT USE THE REGIONAL JAIL HAVE PLUMMETED SIGNIFICANTLY. THERE WAS ONLY 22 ARRESTS IN A FOUR COUNTY REGION FROM NOVEMBER 4 TO 8, WITH JUST TWO OF THOSE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY.

THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER HAS BEEN AT OVER-CAPACITY IN REGARDS TO THE NUMBER OF INMATES IT HAD AT ITS FACILITY FOR THE LATTER PART OF OCTOBER INTO THE FIRST COUPLE DAYS OF NOVEMBER, BUT NOW THE JAIL HAS DROPPED THE INCARCERATED NUMBERS. THE JAIL WAS DESIGNED TO HOLD 225 INMATES. IT HAS BEEN HOVERING IN THE MID 230s FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. THAT HAS NOW COME DOWN TO 208 INMATES AS OF 5:00 P.M. WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 9.

From 12:01 A.M., November 1, 2016 to 11:59 P.M., November 9, 2016; 75 arrested individuals were brought into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of the 75 arrested individuals brought to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center 10 were from Lawrence County.

From 12:01 A.M., October 25, 2016 to 11:59 P.M., October 31, 2016; 67 arrested individuals were brought into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of the 67 arrested individuals brought to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center 15 arrests were from Lawrence County.

The number of people booked each day from October 19 thru October 24 at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville was as the following: TUESDAY-NOVEMBER 1: 11, WEDNESDAY-NOVEMBER 2: 12, THURSDAY-NOVEMBER 3: 12, FRIDAY-NOVEMBER 4: 18, SATURDAY-NOVEMBER 5: THREE, SUNDAY-NOVEMBER 6: 11, MONDAY-NOVEMBER 7: FIVE, TUESDAY-NOVEMBER 8: THREE.

Those ten individuals arrested in Lawrence County in the past eight days are the following:

Amy R. Gantt Amy R. Gantt, 27, of Louisa, turned herself in November 1, 2016 at 1:53 P.M., to the Lawrence County Sheriff Department to serve a jail sentence with: CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
Gantt still remains incarcerated at the BSRDC as of Wednesday afternoon November 9, along with husband, Brian Gannt, who has been jailed at the BSRDC on a bench warrant since August 9 .


 

 

Joyce PhillipsJoyce Phillips, 65, of Genoa, West Virginia; was arrested on November 2, 2016, at 2:57 P.M., by Chief Greg Fugitt, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

 

 

 

Danny T. WorkmanDanny T. Workman, 54, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on November 2, 2016, at 8:13 P.M., by Constable Paul Wells, and was charged with: • ALCOHOL INTOXICATION IN A PUBLIC PLACE (1ST & 2ND OFFENSE), • INDECENT EXPOSURE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE.


 

 

Kenneth L. FitchKenneth L. Fitch, 42, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on November 2, 2016, at 8:16 P.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS, • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 2ND OFFENSE.

 

 

 

Britanny C. MidkiffBrittany C. Midkiff, 27, of Crum, West Virginia; was arrested on November 3, 2016, at 2:40 P.M., by Chief Greg Fugitt, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

 

 

 

 

Lori JusticeLori Justice, 23, of Crum, West Virginia; was arrested on November 3, 2016, at 3:00 P.M., by patrolman officer Steven Wilburn, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.


 

 

Chad A. SteppChad A. Stepp, 31, of Louisa, was arrested on November 4, at 12:11 P.M.,in Lawrence County Court by court officers of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.

 

 

 

 

Delbert MarcumDelbert Marcum Jr., 51, of Louisa, turned himself in November 4, 2016 at 5:46 P.M., to the Lawrence County Sheriff Department to serve a weekend jail sentence with: CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.

 

 

 

Edward KimblerEdward Kimbler, 51, of Sitka, Kentucky; was arrested on November 6, 2016, at 4:51 P.M., by trooper Forrest Newsome, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER/$10,000, • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING $500 OR MORE BUT UNDER/$10,000.

 

 

 

Luke DingessLuke Dingess, 28, of Fort Gay, West Virginia; was arrested on November 8, 2016, at 5:15 P.M., by sergeant Ed Cordle, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.
