Rogers on President-elect Trump and a New Congress
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Hal Rogers released the following statement congratulating President-elect Donald Trump. “President Obama’s liberal policies have failed far too many American families, particularly in rural areas like our Appalachian coalfields that have strongly rejected his Administration’s war on coal and job-killing regulations across the board. That sentiment was echoed by monumental changes in the leadership of our Kentucky legislature.
“I congratulate President-elect Donald Trump on his hard-fought and historic victory. As he said, it’s time to get to work to put the United States and our people first. I look forward to working with our new Commander-in-Chief and a unified Republican-led Congress to drastically change course by putting people back to work, firming up our national defense, improving care for our Veterans and repealing the disastrous and unaffordable Obamacare.”
