The next two days will be a busy time for Lazer sports coverage and we will be out in full force covering two football games on Friday night and an Elite Eight girls soccer match in Lexington.
Dawgs host P-Burg for ‘senior night’
It will be Senior night at Luke Varney Jr Memorial Stadium as the Bulldogs ( 3-6 ) and coming off their best game of the year waxing Sheldon Clark 46-16 last Friday, will play host to Prestonsburg ( 6-3 ) The Dawgs are looking for their second straight win over the Blackcats. The seniors that will be honored before the game will be Jordan Johnson, Jacob Wellman, Avery Bowman, Brayden West, Joey May and James Powell. LC will also honor Senior Videographer Chris Loughery.
Rebels host Boyd. Co. for Homecoming
At Wilts Salmons field it will be the #2 Ranked Tolsia Rebels ( 6-1 ) hosting Boyd Co. ( 4-5 ) on Homecoming night. The Rebels have only played two games at home so far this year beating Wayne and Scott. Boyd Co. started the season 3-0 but after the injuries have piled up they are limping into the last game of the year. The Lions upset previously unbeaten Tolsia in Cannonsburg last year.
SoccerDawgs in Elite 8 at Lexington
At Lexington Lafayette high school on Saturday afternoon it will be KHSAA Elite Eight soccer action between the SoocerDawgs from Lawrence Co. ( 18-2-2 ) vs Simon Kenton ( 20-3 ) LC the 15th Region champion has won 9 games in a row and are playing their best soccer of the season. SK the 8th Region champion has won 6 in a row.
The Lazer will have full details of the football games from Friday night on the Lazer Saturday morning. We will have Soccer details from Saturday afternoons game on Sunday.
The weather will be outstanding tonight and tomorrow so get out and support your local teams. These kids represent their schools on and off the field.
