11 arrested in Lawrence County this week

ARRESTS WERE AT AROUND THE NORMAL WEEKLY AVERAGE IN LAWRENCE COUNTY, WITH THIS WEEK’S INDIVIDUALS WHO WERE ARRESTED BEING CHARGED WITH UNUSUALLY MORE SEVERE CRIMINAL OFFENSES THAN NORMAL.

BUT FOR THE SURROUNDING AREA COUNTIES, ARRESTS HAVE PLUNGED ONCE AGAIN IN THE LAST WEEK, TO ABOUT HALF THE USUAL AVERAGE FROM EARLIER IN THE YEAR.  

BUT YET AT 7 A.M. WEDNESDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 12, THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IS AT BEYOND MAXIMUM CAPACITY. THE BSRDC IS DESIGNED TO HOLD 225 INMATES. AS OF THE MOMENT OF THIS WRITING THERE ARE 232 INMATES.

From 12:01 A.M., October 5, 2016 to 11:59 P.M., October 11, 2016; 66 arrested individuals were brought into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. In the previous five day period from September 30 to October 4, there 65 arrested individuals brought to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

Jail arrests numbers earlier this year were averaging totaling 90 to 120 suspects per week being brought to the BSRDC.

Out of the 66 arrested individuals brought to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in this last seven day period of October 5 to 11, 11 arrests were from Lawrence County. In the previous five period, out of the 65 arrested individuals brought to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, there were 8 arrests from Lawrence County.

Those eleven individuals arrested in Lawrence County in the past seven days are the following:

James MullettJames Arthur Mullett, 33, of Louisa, was arrested on October 5, 2016, at 11:11 A.M., by deputy Karl Adkins, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.

 

 

Christopher Mullett Christopher Paul Mullett, 37, of Louisa, was arrested on October 5, 2016, at 11:16 A.M., by deputy Rodney Lycans, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.

 

 

 

Rita WallerRita Waller, 50, of Hamlin, West Virginia, was arrested on October 7, 2016, at 2:50 A.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

 

 

Devon Perry Devon Perry, 19, of Louisa, was arrested on October 7, 2016, at 2:56 A.M., by chief deputy Mark Wheeler, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • ROBBERY, 1ST DEGREE.

 

 

 

Anthony BartAnthony Bart, 19, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; was arrested on October 7, 2016, at 3:00 A.M., by chief deputy Mark Wheeler, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • ROBBERY, 1ST DEGREE.

 

 

 

Devon SloneDevin Slone, 18, of Louisa, was arrested on October 7, 2016, at 5:38 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

 

 

 

Chrystal WheelerCrystal G. Wheeler, 39, of Louisa, was arrested on October 8, 2016, at 11:41 A.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • SPEEDING 26 MPH OR > SPEED LIMIT, • NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT, • NO REGISTRATION PLATES, • OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE, • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS, • PRESCRIPTION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE NOT IN PROPER CONTAINER 1ST OFFENSE, • FAILURE OF NON-OWNER OPERATOR TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE, • POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA.

 

 

Glen FedleyGlen Fedley, 39, of Tallahassee, Florida; was arrested on October 8, 2016, at 6:15 P.M., by trooper Brian Layne, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 (AGGRAVATED CIRCUMSTANCE) 1ST OFFENSE, • OPERATING ATV ON ROADWAY, • OPERATING ATV W/O HEADGEAR 16 OR > – PUBLIC PROPERTY, • FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE, • NO REGISTRATION PLATES, • NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT, • NO OPERATORS-MOPED LICENSE, • UNAPPROVED OR NO EYE PROTECTIVE DEVICE(MOTORCYCLE), • ALL OTHER TRAFFIC OFFENSES NOT LISTED, • NO HORN, • IMPROPER OR NO WINDSHIELD, • REGULATION & TITLE REQUIREMENTS VEHICLE NOT OPERATING ON HIGHWAY.

Fedley’s arrest was the first arrest made by any KSP officer in Lawrence County since August 23.

 

Joseph McCoyJoseph McCoy, 19, of Louisa, was arrested on October 9, 2016, at 4:22 A.M., by patrolman officer Julius Musick of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.

 

 

 

Jeffery BakerJeffery Baker, 39, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on October 10, 2016, at 9:42 P.M., by deputy Chuck Jackson, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE,  • TERRORISTIC THREATENING, 3RD DEGREE.

 

 

 

Jessica BlevinsJessica Blevins, 33, of Huntington, West Virginia; was arrested on October 11, 2016, at 2:15 P.M., by chief deputy Mark Wheeler, of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, and was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (COCAINE), [TWO SEPARATE COUNTS] • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA; USE, POSSESSION, 1ST OFFENSE.
