1st degree robbery conviction carries 10-20 year sentences

Anthony Bart, left, and Devon Perry

LOUISA, Ky. — Two young men involved in a robbery on October 6 are to appear in court today to answer for their actions for the first time. Anthony Bart, 19 and Devon Perry, 19 both from the Louisa area will be arraigned today on the charges of Complicity to Robbery 1st degree, charges that carry a sentence of 10 to 20 years if found guilty.

According to the citation the two young men went to meet with Michael Cordle at his address on Hwy 1690 under a ruse that they were going to buy marijuana. Bart was armed with a handgun and the men apparently went with the intent to rob Cordle.

The robbery turned into an altercation and the handgun was fired by Anthony Bart while he screamed, “ I’m sorry it had to be this way!”

Michael Cordle was assaulted and was cut with a knife he was armed with. He was taken to Three Rivers Medical Center after the ordeal, treated and released.

Bart and Perry were arrested and transported to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on charges of Robbery 1st degree. The two men do not appear to have any previous criminal history. They continue to be incarcerated on a $10,000 cash bond. Perry was a star player on the Louisa Bulldog football team two years ago.
