Louisa, Ky The Belfry Pirates ( 6-1 ) and ranked #1 team in Class 3A came into Luke Varney Memorial Jr. Stadium and took care of Lawrence Co. ( 2-5 ) by the score of 49-0 on Friday night in a District 6 matchup.
It was tough sledding all night for the Dawgs who only had 6 first downs on the night against the top ranked and defending Class 3A state Champions. The Pirates only led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter. Belfry took advantage of great field position to score 29 points in the 2nd stanza and 
lead 36-0 at halftime which instituted a running clock.
Belfry scored two touchdowns in the 2nd half to set the final score of 49-0.
Jacob Wellman lead the Dawgs in rushing on the night.
Lawrence Co. will host Pike Co. Central ( 3-4 ) next Friday night in another District game. The winner of the game will host a playoff game.
