Charles Ray Sammons

1949 –2016

Charles Ray Sammons, 66, of Clifford, Kentucky passed away Tuesday September 6, 2016 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky following a long illness.

Charles Ray was born September 29, 1949 at Louisa, Kentucky to the late Frank and Delphia Sammons. Although being disabled for serveral years, Cahrles Ray loved life and being with his family and many friends. He recently was saved and accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Franklin Ray Sammons and his stepfather William H. Dillon.

He is survived by his wife of forty-five years Peggy Muncy-Sammons of Clifford; one son Charles and Heather Carroll-Sammons, Jr. and two grandchildren Norah Christine and Susannah Hope Sammons all of Salisbury, North Carolina as well as many friends and extended family all of whom will miss him dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at the Young Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 am with Pastor Phillip Kirk officiating, burial will follow at the Martin-Sammons Cemetery at Clifford.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5-9 pm at the Young Funeral Home.
