 Eagle Ridge Golf League News

 August 23, 2016, League Results

Bill Jackson

The League Championship is a Dead Heat

Tuesday was a beautiful day for golf. The weather was great, the fairways were lush, and the greens were absolutely treacherous. In our three-some, each of us had three 3-putts. I had 20 putts, which was the highest I can remember, but Dan Preece had only 10 putts, and considering the conditions, that was an astounding feat.

We are now entering the final round of the league championship with the closest race in the league history. The following are the standings, with the winner in this coming week, being the league champion.

Tom Copley   60.5 points

Charlies Curnutte   60.0 points

Troy Hughes   60.0 points

In fact, after the final round, these three will finish first, second, and third in the league for the year. If the greens are as treacherous next week, as this week, I would say the one who can handle the greens will be the league champion.

Now to report the remainder of the golf news:

Scores

Low Net Score (31) Dean Stinebring

Low Gross Score (39) Dan Preece

Longest Drive (#7) Jody Warf

Fewest Putts (10) Dan Preece

Skills Competition

Closest to the pin, 2nd shot (#11) Sam Sumpter

Longest Putt (#18) Mike Hogan

Par 3, Closest to pin (#8) Bill England

Par 3, Closest to pin (#12) Bill England

Greens in Regulation (6) Troy Hughes

Skins      {Dan Preece

Tie          {Mike Hogan

The annual awards banquet will be held on Tuesday, the day after Labor Day.

See you at the course on Tuesday, August 30.
