Buffalo, W. Va. —  This past weekend the Lawrence Co. 8U team traveled across the river into the mountain state battling the heat and four other teams to finish in second place despite missing four starters for the weekend. This really shows the depth of the league to be able to compete at that level.

In the championship game it was Lloyd Lumberjack’s a travel team out of Greenup Co. The team has players from Greenup Co., Boyd Co., Russell and surrounding area. They’ve been playing together all summer.

LC went 1-1 in pool play.  Lost to South Shore 8-4, then beat  Buffalo 14-1 in pool play.  Beat Flatwoods 16-6 in first round of single elimination tournament and then lost in the championship game.
