‘OLD FASHIONED’ LAWRENCE COUNTY FAIR JULY 28 – 30

These rules will be strictly enforced. 

ENTRY OF EXHIBITS

  1. Any Youth or Adult who resides in Lawrence County may show his or her items at the County Fair.

  2. Entries must be submitted on Thursday, July 28, 2016 between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. at the Lawrence County Extension Office.

  3. Exhibits are open to 2 categories. 4-H and Youth, (12th grade and under), and Adults.

  4. No entry fee will be charged.

  5. All exhibits must remain in the Extension Office until Monday, August 1, 2016. Exhibits will

    be checked out by LC Extension Office Staff only. Check out time is from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30

    p.m. on Monday. No exhibits will be checked out after this hour.

  6. Only one entry shall be made by one person in a given category.

  7. These rules are general and for special questions, regulations under each department should be checked.

  8. All clothing items must be clean and presented on hangers.

  9. Articles in this department are judged according to standards established by the Depart-

    ment of Agriculture and Home Economics. This means the fair judges have the privilege of opening all jars in the classes. Jars must be sealed or they can not be entered with cate- gories. All canned goods must be processed in standard canning jars. Canned goods must be clean-standard canning jars-no rusty lids.

  10. Secure complete address, street, box number, city, state, zip code, e-mail address, and phone number on each item. Youth should include grade, school, age and teacher.

AWARDS

  1. The superintendents of the fair reserve the right to interpret all conditions and regulations, and to settle all matters rising out of incident to the show.

  2. In case of only one entry being made in any one class, it will not receive a first place rating unless the judge rules it worthy. JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

  3. Any exhibitor attempting to interfere with the judges during their adjudication will be promptly excluded from competition.

  4. Any exhibitor cannot (a) act as judge in a class in which said exhibitor is showing or (b) exhibit an entry in any class where the judge is a principal agent, employee, or relative of the exhibitor.

  5. All exhibits will be judged under the Danish System (Everyone receives a ribbon based on quality of the item).

NO LIABILITY

  1. Every possible protection and courtesy will be extended to the exhibitors at the Lawrence County Fair, but the Board shall not be responsible for any loss of exhibits, animals or equipment in case of fire, theft, or loss from any other course.

  2. The Lawrence County Recreation Board, its agents, servants, and employees shall not be held liable in case of injury to exhibitors, concessionaires, or the public on the grounds or in the buildings from any cause whatsoever while on the grounds of the Lawrence County Fair.
