Next meeting may be on a Houseboat at Yatesville Lake

Julia Carter explained the many services that Home Place Clinic provides. The first meeting of June for Rotarians was held Thursday June, 2nd at the normal place.  Before they introduced the speaker, they announced that they had a new sponsor for their golf fundraisers. Quality Metal located in Louisa joined the list.

The speaker, Julia Carter with the Home Place Clinic that now serves Louisa as well as Paintsville and Prestonsburg, is a Family Practice offering Comprehensive Affordable Care.

Ms. Carter explained the many services that Home Place Clinic provided. Their Mission Statement is to improve the overall health care of the underserved and homeless population of Eastern Kentucky by providing access to quality primary health care.

Comprehensive care is delivered through cost effective direct services, prevention, advocacy, and education. They are taking “New Patient” appointments and accept Medicaid, Medicare & most insurances. They also take the uninsured.

The services they have include Primary Care, Preventative Care, Health Education, Chronic Disease Management, Basic Lab Services, Medication Management, Access to free Medication through Prescription Assistance Program, Mental Health Services, Dental Referrels, Vision Referrals, Patient Transport and Kynect Insurance Services.

She stated that at this time, they are serving around 130 people a month in Lawrence County. Pictures of the brochure will be placed at the bottom.

It is in the works for the next Rotary Meeting to be held at the Yatesville Lake on a boat, which should be exciting the summer season is kicked off.
