Six Lawrence County players competed in the McDonald’s/Wrangler Soccer Classic in Greensboro NC this past weekend and walked away Champions in their age division. According to an event spokesman at the awards presentation, there were over 6,000 players representing over 350 teams tournament wide.

These six talented young ladies started playing soccer many years ago in the Lawrence County Youth Soccer Program (LCYS) & have definitely made Lawrence County & their former coaches proud. They are currently finishing their season for coaches Sherman McGown & Paul Holland with Xcel Futbol Club (XFC) out of Huntington WV. They will complete their season for XFC this coming weekend in Barboursville at the WV Open Cup. Best of luck ladies!
