Bulldog Builders Jr. Lego Robotics Team wins award in St. Louis

The Bulldog Builders Jr. Lego Robotics Team headed for St. Louis to show their stuff in a presentation that they have worked on for months according to locl 4-H leader Caryn McCreary.

The 4-H Lego Robotic Team was given a theme from Lego, Inc. as they will have a new one every year. This year’s theme was “Waste Wise.”  The builders have to build items that could move and dispense waste with Legos then program them through the computer to actually move.

The kids then have to present their robots to the judges and explain to them what they have done to build and learn about their project.

This week, after several months of work, five ‘builders’ have traveled to compete in the 1st. Robotics World Championship held in the Edward D Jones Dome in St. Louis, MO.

The junior team (ages 6 – 8)  members were selected in a random pull (out of the 3 teams) for a trip of a lifetime.  Students Ryan Smith, Zeb Slone, Isaiah Hughes, Gieus Workman and Wyatt Miller along with their parents and dedicated coaches Andy and Aimee Workman made the trip on Wednesday.
