Hezra Gene “Buzz” Newsome

1945 – 2016

Hezra Gene “Buzz” Newsome, 70 of Louisa passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at The Jordan Center in Louisa.

“Buzz” was born in Louisa, Kentucky on September 12, 1945 to the late Ed and Gail Meade-Newsome. He was a heavy equipment operator having worked for Elliott Construction for over 20 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Susie Murphy.

Mr. Newsome leaves behind a loving and devoted family including his wife of 51 years Paulette Hazlett-Newsome of Louisa; one son Paul Eugene Newsome and his wife Pam of Louisa; one daughter Carma Jean Thomas and her husband Frank of Scott Depot, WV; three grandchildren Branden Douglas West of Prestonsburg, Michelle Maynard of Guyandotte, WV and Justin Tyler Newsome of Louisa; two great grandchildren Justin Gage Maynard and Able Gannon Chapman; six step grandchildren Stephanie Fuggitt, Elizabeth Sparks, Emily Paige, Eric Paige and Alyssa Paige as well as many friends and extended family members all of whom will miss him dearly.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Johnathon Hall officiating burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Louisa.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 6-9 pm at Young Funeral Home in Louisa.
