ARC’s Bellefonte Hospital and Recovery Center Celebrates One Year of Providing Critical Psychiatric Services

ASHLAND, Ky. (Nov. 25, 2024) — Today, Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) celebrates a significant milestone as Bellefonte Hospital and Recovery Center in Greenup County marks its one-year anniversary of providing vital psychiatric and behavioral health services to the community. Since opening its doors in November 2023, the facility has been dedicated to supporting individuals through some of the most challenging times in their lives, offering specialized psychiatric care and recovery services in a compassionate, safe environment.

In its first year of operation, Bellefonte Hospital has served over 250 patients, providing high-quality mental health services to those in need. The hospital’s psychiatric unit is designed to offer care for individuals experiencing severe mental health crises, with a focus on safety, stability, and a holistic approach to recovery.

“We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve our community, and we are proud of the impact we’ve made in just one year,” said Johnathan Frazier, Community CEO of Bellefonte Hospital and Recovery Center. “Every day, our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide the care, support, and resources that individuals need to rebuild their lives. We look forward to continuing this vital work for many years to come. I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the community for their unwavering support—it has been instrumental in our success.”

Bellefonte Hospital provides inpatient psychiatric care primarily for individuals who are medically stable and experiencing severe psychiatric symptoms that require immediate intervention. The hospital’s certificate of need allows it to serve individuals facing primary mental health challenges, including:

  • Suicidal or homicidal thoughts with a clear plan to act on those thoughts
  • Severe psychosis or psychotic features that significantly impair daily functioning
  • Major depression that causes a significant decline in the individual’s ability to function

Bellefonte’s psychiatric unit is equipped to provide intensive care and support for those experiencing these critical mental health conditions, with the goal of stabilizing patients and setting them on a path toward long-term recovery. The facility does not treat patients with complex medical needs or high medical acuity, and all patients must be medically stable prior to admission.

24/7 Support Available

If you or a loved one is experiencing a psychiatric crisis and may meet the criteria for inpatient psychiatric care, Bellefonte Hospital’s expert clinical intake team is available 24/7 to assist. For more information or to seek support, please call 606-220-0010.

As Bellefonte Hospital looks to the future, the team is committed to continuing its mission of providing exceptional, patient-centered psychiatric care. With a focus on improving mental health outcomes and helping individuals find lasting recovery, Bellefonte Hospital is proud to be a trusted resource for the community.
