Louisa, Ky. —  Coming off a region title and a state tournament appearance, the Lawrence Co. Boys soccer team will look different this season.

Back L to R Assistant Coach Aaron Wellman, Boedy Maynard, Aiden Mynhier, Gabe Vinson, Gavin Wells, Ryland Brady, Andrew Vinson, Owen Pack, Jacob Sanabria, Cayden Sweeney, Head Coach Scott Johnson.

Front L to R Remy Marcum, Bobby Baisden, Jack Cline, Eli Conley, Daniel Clemente, Dalton Shapaka, Cooper Vinson, Cole Robinette, Colton New.

The squad lost Blake Maynard, the second leading career goal scorer in KHSAA history, to graduation and will look to spread things around a little more this year.

Ryland Brady is back and is one of the best goalkeepers in the area, Gavin Wells, Andrew Vinson, Owen Pack, Gabe Vinson and Boedy Maynard have played a lot of soccer and should ease the pain of losing Blake Maynard.

The SoccerDawgs will open the season at home against 15th Region rival Belfry at 8:00 on Tuesday night, before traveling to Shelby Valley on Thursday evening.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Scott Johnson

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… We are excited about starting the season at home on Tuesday against Belfry. Our preseason has gone well and the boys have been working hard. The 15th region has expanded to include some more teams this year and we look forward to staying in the mix.”
