Delays and Lane Closures for KY 3 in Lawrence County for Paving Operations

Louisa to Fallsburg Rd starting this week

PIKEVILLE, Ky.(July 30, 2024) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of delays and temporary lane closures along KY 3 from Louisa to Fallsburg in Lawrence County. The project will pave KY 3 from MP 17.052 (Intersection of KY 3 and US 23) to MP 19.607 (Intersection of KY 3 and KY 1185) for a total of 2.55 miles.

Crews will begin operations on Wednesday, July 31, at 7 a.m. Work will occur daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. over the next one to two weeks. During this time, traffic will be delayed by 10-15 minute increments while the paving equipment is in use. Both the north and southbound traffic lanes, as well as shoulders, will be resurfaced. During working hours, traffic will be restricted to one-lane traffic, controlled by flaggers.

Motorists should reduce speeds in work zones and seek alternate routes during peak travel times.

Work is subject to change based on weather conditions. Mountain Enterprises has been contracted to perform the work.
