Dennis Thompson, Sr., 74, of Marion, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
Dennis was born August 14, 1949 in Wayne County, West Virginia to the late Glen and Laura Thompson, Sr.
Dennis was a resident at the Presidential Post Acute where he enjoyed fellowshipping with the other residents. He was a truck driver and a minister. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Anthony Dale Thompson and his daughter Denise Thompson; brothers Glen Thompson, Jr. and Robert Denver Thompson.
Survivors include his loving wife Diana Sue (Smith) Thompson; children Donna (Sadala) Abu-Rayyan and Dennis (Shawn) Thompson, Jr.; grandchildren Kristen (Paul) Begin, Keith (Elaine) Thompson, Jr., Hassan (Kasey) Abu-Rayyan, Dennis Thompson III, Zahra Abu-Rayyan, Zainab Abu-Rayyan, Hadell Abu-Rayyan, Muhammad Abu-Rayyan, and Christina Centeno; great grandchildren Aaliyah Begin, Alexis Begin, Paul Joseph Begin, Jr., Lucy Abu-Rayyan, Laith Abu-Rayyan, Lena Abu-Rayyan, Junho Song, Natalie Thompson, Naomi Thompson, Keith Thompson III, Freddy, Rita, Brayden, and Raylynn; sisters Laura May Henderson, Lucille Robinson, and Carol Branham.
Friends may visit the family on Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fort Gay Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Fort Gay Church of God with Pastor Randy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery.
Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Thompson and his family.
