A Floyd County, Kentucky man was arrested when he opened fire in a grocery store parking lot Tuesday night, May 21, which happened due to the man was apparently hallucinating on drugs, according to deputies,
According to the arrest citation report, the bizarre incident happened around 8:00 P.M., at the Martin Save A Lot, in Floyd County. The Floyd County Sheriff Office was called for a report of shots fired and deputies quickly located their suspect upon arrival.
Blake Raines, 23, of Martin, KY., reportedly admitted to firing his gun in the parking lot, saying he was defending himself from a group of people who were trying to kill him.
But witnesses on the scene stated that there was no one else in the parking lot when Blake Raines began shooting. Deputies also learned one of the men he claimed was trying to kill him was actually in jail at the time of the shooting.
The arrest report notes that Blake Raines eyes were dilated and that he was “obviously” hallucinating.
Blake Raines was arrested and charged with: *First-Degree Wanton Endangerment, and *Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol).

FLOYD COUNTY, KY. MAN ARRESTED BY STATE POLICE AFTER DANGEROUS PURSUIT IN MARE CREEK AREA
A Floyd County, Kentucky man faces a long list of charges, after what began as an attempted stop for minor traffic violations resulted in a lengthy chase.
A Kentucky State Police trooper attempted to pull over Steven Chad Castle, 40, of Printer,KY., Monday afternoon, May 20, as he turned onto Main Street in Stanville, KY., for speeding and failing to signal. Instead of stopping, the state police arrest report alleges Steven Castle sped away to Mare Creek.
That began a pursuit up Mare Creek, with police saying Castle was driving recklessly and passing other vehicles on the narrow, one-lane road.
Police say Castle used a dirt road to circle around to head back out of Mare Creek, but another officer blocked his exit, forcing him onto Shop Branch instead. He is accused of driving through yards, narrowly missing a man working in his garden, then circling behind a house to head back out of Shop Branch.
The state police arrest report says that as Steven Castle tried to ride an embankment to pass another car, he collided with the other vehicle. That brought the car chase to an end, but state police stated that Steven Castle then tried to run away, but was quickly apprehended.
Steven Chad Castle is now charged with two counts of: *First-Degree Fleeing Police, three counts of: *First-Degree Wanton Endangerment, one count of: *First-Degree Wanton Endangerment of a Police Officer, and multiple motor traffic violations.

WOLFE COUNTY KY. MAN ARRESTED AFTER HIGH SPEED POLICE CHASE IN FLOYD COUNTY ENDS WITH COP RAMMING SUSPECT’S VEHICLE
A Prestonsburg Police Department officer used his car to bring a high-speed chase to an end, as it approached a campground early Monday morning, May 20.
According to the arrest report citation, the wild police pursuit all began around 12:30 A.M., on Monday, when a Prestonsburg police officer parked at the intersection of North Lake Drive and University spotted a car drive past him. The driver, who was identified as Michael Brake, 19, of Hazel Green, KY., revved his engine loudly as he passed, then shut off his lights and fled at a high rate of speed.
That began a chase which proceeded to Cliff Road, where the car was clocked going 90 miles an hour in a 35 mile an hour zone. Michael Brake abruptly made a right hand turn and bottomed out on the railroad tracks, but soon freed himself and proceeded back out to U.S. 23, where Michael Brake slammed on his brakes on Abbott Mountain, nearly causing a collision with the officer who was pursuing him.
The chase then continued as Michael Brake turned onto Route 3 near Highlands ARH, then into Jenny Wiley State Resort Park. Once Michael Blake’s car turned into the park’s campground area, the officer made the decision to ram it with his cruiser, rather than have the chase threaten the safety of campers.
Michael Brake was arrested and charged with *First-Degree Fleeing Police, *First Degree Wanton Endangerment, *First-Degree Criminal Mischief, and numerous motor traffic violations.

FLOYD COUNTY, KY. MAN ARRESTED FOR METH TRAFFICKING AFTER FOUND DURING POLICE TRAFFIC STOP
A Floyd County, Kentucky man is facing a long list of charges, including drug trafficking and evidence tampering, following a traffic stop early Thursday morning, May 16.
According to the arrest citation report, a Floyd County Sheriff Office deputy spotted an SUV at a home that had been the subject of numerous complaints about drug trafficking. The deputy then saw the SUV leave and that it proceeded to turn onto Route 80.
The deputy pulled the car over and then spoke to the driver, who was identified as Travis Michael Hall, 42, of Prestonsburg, KY., who could not produce proof of registration or insurance for the deputy. The deputy began writing the driver a ticket, while a second deputy came with police dog K9 Bear, who was brought in to sniff around the vehicle, which produced a ‘hit’.
The deputy began searching the car, but noticed that Travis Hall kept fidgeting while standing outside of the car. After the deputy found a set of scales and a syringe in the car, he went back to talk to Travis Hall, to which when the deputy spotted a package on the ground which had not been there earlier. Inside the package were a bag of meth and a loose meth rock, as well as a debit card for a man who had been arrested at the drug house several days earlier.
Two passengers in the car told the deputy that Travis Hall had tucked the package and then tossed it once the deputy began searching the car.
Travis Michael Hall was arrested and charged with *Trafficking in Methamphetamine, *Tampering with Evidence, Driving Under Influence, and several motor traffic violations. Travis Hall was taken to and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center in Prestonsburg, where he is currently being held on a $50,000 full cash bond only.
