COACH’S COMMENTS

“… We are the reigning 15th region champions. We know we lost our best player last season with Kensley and it’s definitely going to be different. But with the players we are returning we feel we can make another run at the regional championship. Many in our region are counting us out and we like that underdog role. We are going to let that fuel us and let our game speak for itself.”

“… Senior Leandra Curnutte 5’5 point guard has been offered by Midway College. She is our floor general. She does a great job controlling the floor and giving leadership to our team. We will need her to step up and score more for us this season having lost 30 points from our scoring last season.”

“ Senior Kaison Ward 6’1 forward has signed to play at Alice Lloyd College. Kaison is a solid post for us, she rebounds well and defends the post like we need her too. She is able to stretch the floor with her 3 point shot.”

“… Senior Abby Nelson 5’7 forward has committed to the University of Pikeville to play softball. She is our junk player, she is going to defend and rebound well. Gives everything she has on both ends of the court.”

“… Junior Sophie Adkins 5’10 guard has been offered by Kentucky Christian University. Sophie is our leading returning scorer. She will be called on to give us a lot of the things Kensley did last year. She’s a very vocal leader and can score at three levels. We will need her to step it up and take more of that role for us. I have all the confidence that she can.”

“… Junior Abby Maynard will have more of a role this season. She came off the bench last year for us but will play more of a role for us this season.”

“… Jada Patton is a 5’10 8th grader that has improved tremendously from last season. She will give us that spark when we need it. She’s a long and athletic player that will surprise many people this season with her off season growth.”

“… Madison Artrip is 5’6 freshman. She has that grit and determination to get things done that not many kids have. She will do whatever is needed to get the job done.”

“… Addison Bloomfield is a Junior that has improved in the off season and could help us in the post this season.”

“… Sophomore Gabby Stinnett will give us depth at the post position. She’s a great rebounder.”

“… 8th grader Hallie Adkins will give us depth at the guard position. She’s a tough nosed player who does a little bit of everything.”
