Cabwaylingo Beauty Pageant 2023
The Cabwaylingo Beauty Pageant was held on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Hester Gilman, who has been directing the Cabwayling Beauty Pageant for 4 years, says this is one of her favorite passions. She started directing the pageant in 2019 with only six girls entering.
This year, the pageant included 60 girls/women of all age ranges (nine of which were over the age of 22).
The event was such a success they had to divide it into two sessions and was still “busting out the door”. Hester says that this pageant is more than about looks. The pageant helps raise money for the Cabwaylingo Forest Foundation. “I love raising money for the park,” Hester shared. “Not only does it help raise money for the park, but this pageant also has such a positive impact on the contestant’s confidence,” she explained.
Hester went on to say that this has been such an incredible journey, and she is grateful to be able to make a difference in the community.

Hester expressed her gratitude for all those who helped in the pageant: the judges who spent all day there; James Grocery for buying the beautiful crowns; those who donated decorations and their time, and to the parents for signing up and spending money on the pageant. She also wanted to thank last year’s queen, Rosie, for helping all day.
Hester will be directing another pageant in March for MS awareness month. She looks forward to seeing even more contestants then.

This year made the second year my daughter entered the {pageant}. She loves this pageant and is already talking about doing it again she’s only 3 years old.
