Lena Marie Nelson Caudill, 91, of Louisa, KY passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Lena was born on October 28, 1931 to the late Stanley and Nancy Jane (Sparks) Chaffin, the oldest of 14 children.

Lena worked in the restaurant and retail industry for many years. She attended the Fort Gay Adult Learning Center, where she earned her G.E.D. She in turn gave back to her community and started working there to help many residents in the surrounding area get an education.

Lena was a devout Christian and loved going to churches to worship. She was a member of the Louisa First Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Caudill; son Arnold Kitchen; and siblings Randy Chaffin, Freddie Ray Chaffin, Mary Belle Prince, Freda May Prince, Noah Chaffin, William Chaffin, Virginia Wilks, Linda Moore, and Owen Chaffin.

Survivors include her children Larry Kitchen, Joyce Collier, Kathy Kitchen, Randy Kitchen, Angel Parker, and Carol Branham; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; siblings Frank Chaffin, Reba Chaffin, Lois Chaffin, and Paul (Tracy) Chaffin; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Chaffin Family Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Caudill and her family.
