Emma Sue Sloas, 84, of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 4, 2023. Sue was born December 15, 1938 to the late Monroe P. and Katherine (Carter) Hughes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Cecil Sloas and brothers Wayne Hughes, Norman K. Hughes, and Tim Hughes.

Sue was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was an avid reader, an excellent cook and loved to go to estate sales.

Sue was a member of Louisa Free Will Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Louisa Chapter 292, and the senior circle.

Survivors include her children James Gregory Sloas and Laura (Tim) Dennison; grandsons Matthew Dennison and Adam Dennison, whom she loved so dearly and was so proud of the hard work they both put in their careers; sisters Nell Bussey, Ellen Greer, Ann Salyer, and Jane Mahurin; and brother Clark Hughes.

The family would like to thank Community Hospice for all the love and care shown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Community Hospice.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 7, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Louisa Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Cecil Ferguson officiating. Friends may visit the family Monday, August 7, 2023 from 1:00 PM until time of service at Louisa Free Will Baptist Church.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Sloas and her family.
