Lawrence Co. Golf coach Ryan Sammons

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… I was very proud of both our boys team and our girls team for competing in the 2A section 8 golf tournament. Of our 10 kids, only 2 had ever competed in an 18 hole golf tournament before. Two of our girls finished in the top 3 overall in scores (Kailey Prince and Abby Runyon) and Abby, an 8th grader playing in her first 18 hole match qualified for the 2A state tournament in Owensboro next month. There was some tough competition for the boys. Reece Hughes finished with an 83, which would have qualified him for state in the past, but this year it was just outside the cut, he finished 4th overall, but I am pleased with his showing, along with our other 4 boys.”

“… We have some young talent playing for us and the future looks bright. The 2A is a great opportunity for our kids to be showcased and I am thankful to be a part of it.”
