Lawrence County Grand Jury met July 13 and issued multiple indictments with bail jumping dominating for a total of 15 out of 30 indictments that were issued.

Commonwealth vs. Aaron Justice

The Grand Jury charges that on or before May 25, 2023 in Lawrence  County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Aaron Justice committed the offense of bail jumping in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court, with or without bail, upon the condition that he/she will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with charges.

Commonwealth vs. Bridgett Hopkins

The Grand Jury charges that on or before April 13, 2023 in Lawrence  County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Dwayne Perry committed the offense of flagrant non-support when he failed to pay child support to Crystal Marcum as court ordered with an approximate total amount exceeding $28, 623,12.

The Grand Jury charges that on or before February 28, 2023 in Lawrence  County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. James Quisenberry committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

  1. Melvin Harmon committed the offense of tampering with physical evidence by knowingly and unlawfully destroying, removing, altering or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding.

  2. Melvin Harmon committed the offense of operating a motor vehicle on suspended or revoked license by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle while his license to operate said motor vehicle had been suspended or revoked.

Commonwealth vs. Teresa Clay

The Grand Jury charges that on or before June 18, 2023 in Lawrence  County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Teresa Clay committed the offense of wanton endangerment in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully engaging in conduct which created a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person, namely two juvenile children.

  2. Teresa Clay committed the offense of criminal mischief in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully damaged property belonging to Mary Ann Wells with a value of damages exceeding $1,000.

Commonwealth vs. Lonnie Maynard

The Grand Jury charges that on or before May 26, 2023 in Lawrence  County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Lonnie Maynard committed the offense of assault in the second degree when he intentionally caused physical injury to Jeannie Perry of Louisa, Ky by means of a dangerous instrument, namely a tire iron.

  2. That the defendant, having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count(s) is now being charged as a persistent felony offender in the second degree.

  3. Lonnie Maynard committed the offense of criminal mischief in the second degree by knowingly and unlawfully damaging property owned by Jeannie Perry of Louisa, Ky with an amount of the damages at approximately $200.00.

  3. Andrew Brown committed the offense of operating a motor vehicle on suspended or revoked license by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle while his license to operate said motor vehicle had been suspended or revoked.

  4. Andrew Brown committed the offense of failure to notify address change to Department of Transportation by knowingly and unlawfully failing to notify of a change of address to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet within ten days.

  5. Andrew Brown committed the violation of failure to or improper signal by knowingly and unlawfully failing to make a signal upon a Kentucky roadway while in physical control of a motorized vehicle.
