LOUISA, KY. — Three candidates have signed up to run for two seats on the Louisa City Council as Madison Arrington, 28, and Coty Roe, 33, joined Keith Chafin, 60, who registered last week, on the ticket for this Fall.
The election is required since both council members who quit shortly after being elected, Ashley Caudill and Tom Parsons, had not served at least half their terms, Lawrence Clerk Chris Jobe said. Ms. Arrington was nominated for the council seat Roe now has but the council members chose Roe.
Also in the Nov. 7, general election will be the school board seat in District 2 as Heath Preston left the position before completing at least half (2 years) his term and Susie Rice Ward was the only applicant for the job. She registered today and Jobe said but no other candidate has signed up to run and the deadline again is tomorrow, June, 6, 2023 before 4:00 pm. But, he said, ms. Ward’s name will be on the ballot even if nobody runs against her.
