Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. Softball improved to 5-1 with a 12-0 five inning victory over Paintsville ( 1-6 ) on Thursday evening. 

2023 Lawrence Co. Bulldogs

In the victory over Paintsville Abby Nelson hit a double and a triple, drove in two runs and scored twice, Dani Crum tripled, drove in one and scored once, Jaylee Maxie doubled and scored a run, Kensley Feltner singled, drove in one and scored two runs, Allie Triplett singled, drove in one and scored once, Abby Maynard singled and scored a run, Jada Patton singled, Shelby Blevins drove in a run, Caroline See and Emalynn Kitts scored a run. 

Bree Jones went all five innings in the circle to get the win. She struck out five, allowed four hits and walked four. Jones also had two hits including an inside the park homer, drove in three and scored twice to help her cause. 

Lawrence Co. 6 Lewis Co. 5 ( Tuesday ) 

The Dawgs scored three run each in the third and fourth innings to come from behind and beat Marshall signee Emily Cole. 

Dani Crum had three hits including a home run, drove in two runs and scored twice, Bree Jones had 2 hits, one RBI and scored two runs, Kensley Feltner doubled and drove in two runs, Abby Nelson singled and scored a run, Jada Patton drove in a run, Allie Triplett scored a run. 

Taylor Blevins picked up the win in relief and struck out six. 

Johnson Central 8 Lawrence Co. 7 ( Monday ) 

The Dawgs led 7-2 before the Golden Eagles scored three runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh to stun Lawrence Co. in Paintsville. 

Bree Jones had three hits, drove in one and scored one run, Dani Crum doubled, had two runs batted in and scored a run, Allie Triplett singled, drove in two runs and scored once, Addalyn Woods doubled and scored a run, Jada Patton singled and scored a run, Kensley Feltner and Abby Nelson singled, Ella Smith scored a run. 

Taylor Blevins suffered the loss in the circle. 

The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday against Ironton ( OH ) on the road at Noon.

“… I was glad to see our kids bounce back after a terrible performance at Johnson Central. Lewis Co. is a really good team and probably the class of the field in the 16th Region this year.” 

“… Our girls took care of business versus Paintsville on Thursday. We are very patient at the plate and did a good job on defense as well.”
