Maternity Center receives donation of needed supplies

  • — March 21, 2023

On Monday, Karen’s Place Maternity Center (KPMC) received some much-needed supplies thanks to the generosity of State Rep. Patrick Flannery. Staff used money donated by Flannery to purchase supplies for the facility. Currently, 17 babies, their mothers, and other women are receiving treatment and services at the maternity center.

“So many good things going on, and I’m glad to be a part of it, and hopefully, this so something I can try to do every year,” said Flannery. “Addiction affects everyone regardless of what stage they are in of their life, and this is something where you have two lives at stake, and I just think it’s important to try to get that young baby off to a good start and help the mom be the best mom she can be.”

KPMC Director Stephanie Moore says the money helped them buy diapers, formula, clothes, bottles, pacifiers, and other items. Everything will go to help the mothers at the center. Moore says staff there uses more than 150 diapers daily.

The center is always looking for new donated items. If you would like to help, you can call the center at 606-254-8943.

Items that are always needed include:

  • Diapers
  • Formula
  • Bottle brushes
  • Clothes
  • Hats
  • Wash clothes
  • Pacifiers
  • Bottles
