15TH REGION GIRLS’ TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE CHANGED DUE TO TODAY’S STORM THREATS

Lawrence, Martin County both play on Saturday afternoon: Girls Championship game will now be played at 3:00 on Sunday afternoon

Pikeville, Ky. — The 15th Region Girls basketball tournament scheduled for tonight is being postponed because of weather and will be played on Saturday beginning at 2:30 at the Appalachian Wireless Arena.

The first semifinal will be Martin Co. squaring off with defending 15th Region champ Pikeville at 2:30.

In the second semifinal scheduled for 3:30 will have Lawrence Co. versus Pike Co. Central.

The Girls Championship game will now be played at 3:00 on Sunday afternoon.

The Boys tournament is still on the same schedule with Lawrence Co. facing Martin Co. at 6:30 on Saturday night and defending champion Pikeville against Pike Co. Central at 8:00.

The Championship game will be played at 7:00 Monday.

 

Local Foothills customers can see the games on Channel 92 from Gearhart  in Floyd County.
