James Roy Robertson, 59, of Wayne, WV passed away at home on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

James was born in Fort Gay, WV. He was the son of James “Jim” and Olive Rowe Robertson. He was also preceded in death by his three children Jamie Roy Robertson, David Lee Robertson, and Bridget Robertson; sister Ruth Lester; brother Vernon Robertson, Sr.; nephews James Daniel Robertson and Vernon Robertson, Jr.; and nieces Teresa Clay and Bernice Bartram.

James is survived by his 5 sisters Maysie Robertson (late Roy Robertson), Judy (Luther) Dingess; Maggie (Roger) Watts; Deloris (Gary) Osborne; and Evelyn (Nolan Berry) Robertson; 5 brothers Eddie (Barbara) Robertson, Teddy Robertson, Wayne (Loretta) Robertson, Richard (Brenda Horn) Robertson, and Kevin Robertson; grandson Christopher Robertson; ex-wife Sofia Robertson; step daughter Brittani Massie; and 45 nephews and nieces and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Church with Pastor Roger Watts and Evangelist Luther Dingess officiating. Burial will follow in the Robertson Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 12:00 PM until time of service at Oak Grove Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to help offset funeral expenses.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Robertson and his family.
