DAWGS OUTLAST RACELAND IN DOUBLE OT; HOST DISTRICT TOURNAMENT BEGINNING TUESDAY

Worthington, Ky. — Lawrence Co. Boys ( 16-14 ) closed out the regular 22-23 basketball season with a 70-67 double overtime victory over Raceland ( 13-17 ) Friday night. 

Andrew Bloomfield lead the Dawgs in scoring heading into the Postseason. 

Andrew Bloomfield led the Bulldogs with 17 points, Blake Marcum tallied 14 points, Hayden Perry added 12 points, Will Lafferty netted 9 points, Logan Ratliff finished with 7 points, Kaden Gillispie chipped in with 6 points and Ford Scaggs had 5 points. 

Lawrence Co. hit 5 three pointers and went 11 of 22 from the free throw line. 

Fairview 80 Lawrence Co. 77 ( Friday ) 

The Eagles ( 15-15 ) hit a three pointer late to escape with the home victory over the Bulldogs. 

8th Grader Hayden Perry has been good as advertised so far this season. 

Andrew Bloomfield and Hayden Perry had 21 points apiece to pace the Dawgs, Kaden Gillispie tallied 12 points, Will Lafferty and Blake Marcum finished with 7 points each, Ford Scaggs had 6 points and Logan Ratliff chipped in with 3 points. 

Lawrence Co. hit 4 three pointers and went 7 of 13 from the foul line.

Lawrence Co. will host the 58th District tournament and will play #2 seed Floyd Central at 8:00 Tuesday. 

#1 Betsy Layne will play #4 Prestonsburg at 6:30 on Tuesday.

The Championship game will be on Thursday at 7:00.
