FROM 12:00 A.M., FEBRUARY 1, 2022, THRU TO 11:59 P.M., FEBRUARY 13, 2022, (13 DAYS); AT LEAST 112 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, & MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED, AND WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE, KY., IN JOHNSON COUNTY.

 

OUT OF THOSE 112 ARRESTS, 25 ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY.

PREVIOUSLY; FROM 1:00 A.M., JANUARY 14, 2022, THRU TO 11:59 P.M., JANUARY 31, 2022, (18 DAYS); AT LEAST 114 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, & MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED, AND WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE, KY., IN JOHNSON COUNTY. OUT OF THOSE 118 ARRESTS, 20 ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY. SEPARATELY, THE OUT COUNTY ARRESTS OF LAWRENCE RESIDENTS WERE PUT OUT AS A SEPARATE REPORT TEMPORARILY, DUE TO THE UNUSUAL HIGH AMOUNT IN THE LESS THAN PAST MONTH; HOWEVER A LAWRENCE COUNTY ARREST SUBJECT IN JANUARY WAS LATER TRANSPORTED FROM THE BSRDC IN FEBRUARY AND ON DOWN TO THE BULLITT COUNTY, KY. DETENTION CENTER.

 

THE NUMBER OF INMATES THAT WERE BEING HOUSED AT THE BIG SANDY  REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE, KY, IN JOHNSON COUNTY, ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, AT 6:00 A.M., WAS 209. THE MAXIMUM DESIGNATED CAPACITY OF THE BSRDC FACILITY IS 225.
 
HERE ARE THE TWENTY-FIVE (25) ARRESTS IN LAWRENCE COUNTY ARE AS THE FOLLOWING: 

 

Christopher E. Hall, 36, of Martha, Kentucky; was arrested on February 1, 2018 at 10:21 A.M., by officer McKinney, of the Kentucky Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole, and was charged with: 
• PAROLE VIOLATION (FOR TECHNICAL VIOLATION).
 
Kelly A. Fletcher, 40, of Louisa, Kentucky; was taken into custody on February 1, 2023, at 9:44 P.M., by deputy Joseph Osborne, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence, “weekender”:
• CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
 
Ronald Lee Ward, 43, of Louisa, Kentucky; was taken into custody on February 2, 2023, at 2:32 A.M., by patrolman officer Teddy B. Newsome, of the Louisa Police Department, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence, “weekender”:
• CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER
 
Kelly J. Faulkner, 46, of Portsmouth, Ohio; was arrested on February 2, 2023, at 11:28 A.M., by Sheriff Chuck Jackson, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and  was charged with via a grand jury indictment: 
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – ( > OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE).
 
Marshall Fendley, 45, of Kermit,West Virginia; was arrested on February 2, 2023, at 5:23 P.M., by Sheriff Chuck Jackson, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and was charged with: 
• DISREGARDING TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE-TRAFFIC LIGHT,
• NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT,
• IMPROPER DISPLAY OF REGISTRATION PLATES,
• DRIVING DUI SUSPENDED LICENSE – 1ST OFFENSE (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES).
 
William Arthur Cassady, 45, of Fort Gay,West Virginia; was arrested on February 2, 2023, at 8:03 P.M., by deputy Joseph Osborne, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and was charged with via a grand jury indictment: 
• RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY $1,000 < $10,000, 
• FAILURE TO APPEAR.
 
Joshua Pruitt, 31, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on February 2, 2023, at 10:57 P.M., by patrolman officer Teddy B. Newsome of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – ( > OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE), 
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 3RD DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED, 
• PRESCRIPTION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE NOT PROPER CONTAINER 1ST OFFENSE, 
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS, 
• TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE, 
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (OPIATES).
 
Govindlal Patel, 62, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on February 3, 2023, at 9:44 A.M., by the Louisa Police Department, & was charged with:
• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION ALL OTHERS, 
• PROMOTING HUMAN TRAFFICKING,  SEXUAL ABUSE – 3RD DEGREE.
 
Reena Patel, 38, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on February 3, 2023, at 10:22 A.M., by the Louisa Police Department, & was charged with:
• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION FROM BUILDING UNDER/$500.
 
Eddie A. Patrick Jr, 24, of Louisa,Kentucky; was taken into custody on February 3, 2023, at 1:14 P.M., by the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence, “weekender”:
• CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
 
Christopher McReynolds, 33, of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on February 4, 2023, at 6:00 P.M., by trooper Colton Cross of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with:
• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE SUBSTANCE (189A.010(1D) – 1ST OFFENSE, 
• POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA.
 
Jeffery Lynn Craft, 44, of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on February 4,2023, at 7:36 P.M., by trooper Zachary Wright of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: 
• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE SUBSTANCE (189A.010(1D) – 1ST OFFENSE, 
• FAILURE TO OR IMPROPER SIGNAL.
 
Blaine Wellman, 66, of Kenova, West Virginia; was arrested on February 4, 2023, at 11:45 P.M., by patrolman officer Michael Housinger of the Louisa Police Department, & was charged with:
• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL .08 (189A.010(1A) – 1ST OFFENSE
 
Kevin Eugene Levering, 59, of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on February 6, 2023, at 12:08 A.M., by patrolman officer Michael Housinger, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:
• FILING FALSE REPORTS UNDER KRS 304 SUBTITLE 37.
 
Frenchie Watts, 45, of Fort Gay,West Virginia; was arrested on February 7, 2023, at 1:27 A.M., by deputy Travis Music, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and was charged with via a grand jury indictment:
* POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE).
 
Kenneth E. Marcum, 44, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on February 7,2023, at 3:50 P.M.,at the Lawrence County Judicial Center, by court security officer Melody Salyers,of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and was charged with:
• DRIVING ON DUI SUSPENDED LICENSE – 1ST OFFENSE.
Officer Salyers wrote in the arrest report that she saw Kenneth Marcum drive into the judicial center parking lot and that she knew he had already been in court recently for DUI suspended license charges and that he did not have a valid license.
 
James W. Harless, 56, of Tomahawk, Kentucky; was arrested on February 2, 2023, at 8:03 P.M., by deputy Tyler Laney, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and was charged with via a grand jury indictment: 
• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION ALL OTHERS $10,000 < $1,000,000, 
• PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER 1.
 
Nicholas A. Adkins, 21, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on February 9, 2023, at 2:51 P.M., by deputy Tyler Laney, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and was charged with:
 • GIVING OFFICER FALSE IDENTIFYING INFORMATION.
 
Paul M. Adkins, 45, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on February 9, 2023, at 2:51 P.M., by deputy Tyler Laney, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and was charged with: 
• IMPROPER REGISTRATION PLATE, 
• OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE, 
• FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE, 
• FAILURE TO REGISTER TRANSFER OF MOTOR VEHICLE, 
• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION ALL OTHERS $1,000 < $10,000, 
• THEFT BY DECEPTION-INCLUDE COLD CHECKS $1,000 < $10,000.                                  
 
Linda L. Whitt, 42, of Louisa,Kentucky; was taken into custody on February 9, 2023, at 7:34 P.M., by deputy Joseph Osborne, the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence, “weekender”:
 • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/ SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
 
Eddie A. Patrick Jr., 24, of Louisa,Kentucky; was taken into custody on February 10, 2023, at 12:00 P.M., by the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence, “weekender”:
• CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
 
Charles Kenny Crum, 24, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on February 10, 2023, at 1:20 P.M., by deputy Tyler Laney, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and was charged with:
 • FAILURE TO APPEAR.
 
Darin Lee Conley, 36, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on February 10, 2023, at 2:48 P.M., by deputy Tyler Laney, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and was charged with:
• SPEEDING 20 MPH OVER LIMIT, 
• NO OPERATORS-MOPED LICENSE,
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST OFFENSE, 
• FAILURE TO APPEAR (2 SEPARATE CHARGES COUNTS).
 
Shawn D. Compton, 36, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on February 13,2023, at 12:14 A.M., by deputy Tyler Laney, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and was charged with: 
• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE SUBSTANCE (189A.010(1C) – 1ST OFFENSE, 
• POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, 
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS, 
• FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD, 
• IMPROPER REGISTRATION PLATE, 
• FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS.
 
Christopher L. Brackett, 39, of Louisa, Kentucky; turned himself in and was taken into custody on February 13, 2023,at 10:01 A.M.,at the Lawrence County Judicial Center, by court security officer Melody Salyers,of the Lawrence County Sheriff Office, and was charged with:
• HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS.
