A Lawrence County Grand Jury issued multiple indictments for bail jumping along with several other charges.  Matthew Chaffin is indicted for wanton endangerment in the first degree for engaging in conduct which created danger of death or serious physical injury to Deputy Dwayne Bowen.

Commonwealth vs. Carlos Hammond

The Grand Jury charges that on or before January 31, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Carlos Hammond committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance Heroin with the intent to traffic in that controlled substance or by trafficking in a controlled Heroin.

The Grand Jury charges that on or before January 24, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Carlos Hammond committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Heroin with the intent to traffic in that controlled substance or by trafficking in a controlled substance, namely Heroin.

Carlos Hammond committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance Heroin, with the intent to traffic in that controlled substance or by trafficking in a controlled substance, namely Heroin.

Commonwealth vs. Kelly Faulkner

The Grand Jury charges that on or before September 16, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Kelly Faulkner committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of approximately 7 grams of Methamphetamine and a set of digital scales with the intent to traffic in that Methamphetamine or by trafficking in that approximately 7 grams of Methamphetamine.

The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 25, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Brandy Perkins committed the offense of bail jumping in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court with or without bail, upon condition that he will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with felony charge. He failed to appear at that time and place as ordered by the court.

  2. Brandy Perkins committed the offense of bail jumping in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court with or without bail, upon condition that he will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with felony charge. The Grand Jury charges that on or before March 1, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

Tammy Jo Evans  committed the offense of bail jumping in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court with or without bail, upon condition that she will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with felony charge. She failed to appear at that time and place as ordered by the court.

  1. James A. Jude committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Methamphetamine.

Commonwealth vs. Matthew Chaffin

The Grand Jury charges that on or before March 17, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Matthew Chaffin committed the offense of wanton endangerment in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully engaging in conduct which created a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person, namely Dwayne Bowen with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, while working within his official capacity.

Commonwealth vs. Herbert Fletcher

The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 5, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Herbert Fletcher committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Methamphetamine.

  2. Herbert Fletcher committed the offense of tampering with physical evidence by knowingly and unlawfully destroying, removing, altering or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding.

Commonwealth vs. Karen Childers

The Grand Jury charges that on or before July 30, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Karen Childers  committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of approximately 5.00 grams of Methamphetamine with the intent to traffic in that Methamphetamine or by trafficking in that 5.00 grams of Methamphetamine.

Commonwealth vs. Kimberly Fitch

The Grand Jury charges that on or before July 30, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Kimberly Fitch actin alone or in complicity with Kenny Fitch committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of approximately 5.37 grams of Methamphetamine, $225.00 in cash monies, with the intent to traffic in that Methamphetamine or by trafficking in that 5.37 grams of Methamphetamine.

  2. That the defendant having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count(s) is now being charged as a persistent felony offender in the first degree.

Commonwealth vs. Kenny Fitch

The Grand Jury charges that on or before July 30, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Kenny Fitch actin alone or in complicity with Kimberly Fitch committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of approximately 5.37 grams of Methamphetamine, $225.00 in cash monies, with the intent to traffic in that Methamphetamine or by trafficking in that 5.37 grams of Methamphetamine.

  2. That the defendant having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count(s) is now being charged as a persistent felony offender in the first degree.

  3. Kenny Fitch committed the offense of tampering with physical evidence by knowingly and unlawfully destroying, removing, altering or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against her/him in an official proceeding.

Commonwealth vs. Brandon Marcum

The Grand Jury charges that on or before April 28, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Brandon Marcum committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Methamphetamine.

  2. Brandon Marcum committed the offense of criminal trespass in the third degree by knowingly and unlawfully entered and remained property owned by Eric Clevenger.

Commonwealth vs. James Mollett

The Grand Jury charges that on or before October 14, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. James Mollett committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Methamphetamine.

  2. James Mollett committed the offense of possession of drug paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a glass pipe.

Commonwealth vs. Matthew Caudill

The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 30, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Matthew Caudill  committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Methamphetamine.

  2. Matthew Caudill committed the offense of possession of drug paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a glass pipe containing chemical residue.

Commonwealth vs. Lacy Hall

The Grand Jury charges that on or before October 29, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Lacy Hall committed the offense of assault in the first degree by intentionally causing serious physical injury to another person, namely Brad Cordle of Louisa, Ky by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.

Commonwealth vs. Christina Fairchild

The Grand Jury charges that on or before November 3, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Christina Fairchild committed the offense of assault in the first degree by intentionally causing serious physical injury to another person, namely Linda Fairchild of Louisa, Ky by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.

  2. Christina Farichild committed the offense of unlawful imprisonment in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully restraining Linda Fairchild of Louisa, Ky under circumstances which exposed her to a risk of serious physical injury.

  3. Christina Fairchild committed the offense of theft by unlawful taking over $1000 (auto) by knowingly and unlawfully taking a 2002 Buick Lacrosse automobile owned by Linda Fairchild of Louisa, Ky with a value exceeding $1000.

Commonwealth vs. John May

The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 9, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. John May acting alone or in complicity with Larry Maynard committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of two clear plastic baggies, one containing approximately 100.68 grams of Methamphetamine and the other containing approximately 27.6 grams of Methamphetamine, a set of digital scales, $114.00 in cash monies and five cell phones, with the intent to traffick in that Methamphetamine or by trafficking in that 127.6 grams of Methamphetamine.

  2. John May committed the offense of fleeing/evading in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in physical control of a motor vehicle upon a Ky roadway and disregarding signals and commands to stop given by Deputy Mason Keefer with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department with the intent to flee, avoid or elude his arrest.

  3. John May committed the offense of fleeing or evading the police in the first degree on foot by knowingly and unlawfully disregarding the orders of Deputy Mason Keefer with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department to stop, while running from the officer who was operating in his official capacity.

  4. John May committed the violation of improper passing by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a Ky roadway and made an improper pass.

Commonwealth vs. Larry Maynard

The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 9, 2022 in Lawrence County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1.     Hansel Wiley must have a luxury suite at the jail in Paintsville.. He goes there regularly and always ends up back in Louisa to break the law some more.
