Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. ( 8-2 ) fell 32-7 against a very good Raceland ( 9-1 ) team on Senior night Friday at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Stadium.

Senior Lawson Baisden looks for room to run against Raceland.

Raceland led 32-0 before Lawrence Co. got on the board with a Will McDavid 1 yard touchdown run and Logan Southers added the PAT kick with under a minute left in the ballgame.

#8 Senior Dylan Ferguson hits the hole hard versus Raceland.

Lawrence Co. will begin the Class 3A playoffs at home Friday against East Carter ( 6-4 ). The two teams met in Grayson on September 23rd with the Dawgs winning 42-26.

Raceland will open the Class 1A playoffs at home Friday versus Nicholas Co. ( 7-3 ).

“ We did not get into any rhythm offensively, Hat tip to the Raceland defense. Coach Alan Short told The Daily Independent. “It’s a very quality defense with athletes. I joked through the week with Mike Salmons that it was difficult to find a weak spot. Assistant coach (Mark) Lewis does a great job. It was an old-fashioned butt-whipping.”
