Vince Doty, right, is the LC Deputy Judge and Economic Development Director. Doty passed out flyers to members of the press for ‘Help Wanted’ ads for a proposed Bitcoin Operation to be located in Lawrence County but there was no announcement concerning the facility actually opening. The Bitcoin operation would be located on 53 acres of property beside the Kentucky Power operation on Rt. 23, Doty said earlier this year. He said then the company would employ as many as 200.  If you are interested in a job, scan the QR Code and apply before November 30, 2022, Doty said.

Mr Blackburn how about working on some of the city roads.
Been driving around the city haven’t seen any county equipment or workers working on any city property.

This is a joke. Bitcoin is a joke, it’s all make believe. If power goes out bitcoin doesn’t exist. You can’t touch it, see it or feel it. You can actually cash out your debt card hell even credit cards can turn to cash or gold. Plus there isn’t any jobs. How many electrical engineers live in Louisa, maybe 1-2. What little jobs being created are for outta town people. Maybe 50 construction jobs at most for couple months and then nothing. Been running construction for over 20 years. This will make some outta stater rich not help local economy at all

  2. John says:

That would be around 4-5 jobs. Maybe 200 temporary construction jobs. Get your story straight.

There was no official announcement nor any details this week. We were given the flyer to post showing there will be new jobs in Lawrence County. The 200 jobs are not just for construction as we were told by the Carter administration.

      • John says:

I can guarantee you it will not be 200 jobs.
Maybe 4-5 permanent jobs. Trust me on this.

John, if you know all the unreleased details, enlighten the rest of us. I can’t stand that type of attitude.

      • John says:

I know plenty of the details.

What a joke. This is about ten years too late.

I agree and I don’t believe bitcoin will last. Ninety-five percent of the population has no idea what it is.

Hopefully they build the facility though. Even if they don’t survive, maybe another company will move something into this high-tech building. Like other bitcoin facilities, this one should have multiple computers/servers and will most likely use lots of electricity.

Is this a joke? Maybe they can make some lead ballons. Im still laughing. When is the ground breaking ceremony? When is liberty moving in to shut the power plant down? Yet AEP thinks its convinced Lawrence County what a great thing closing half the plant down was. AEP please stay away from Lawrence co.

    • John says:

It is true this is going to happen at the plant property.

Latunisky eats Kevin Bacon’s sausage after murder:

The Christmas holiday has never been the same for Bacon’s family.

“We haven’t celebrated it since, ” said Kevin’s father, Karl Bacon.

Investigators say Latunski brought Bacon to the basement of his residence on Tyrrell Road in Shiawassee County’s Bennington Township, tied him up, killed him and dismembered part of Bacon’s body.

Michigan State’s finest Police found Bacon’s mutilated body in Latunski’s basement a couple days later. Police say Latunski engaged in cannibalism with Bacon’s sausage.

Are you saying this is a joke? LAUGHING OUT LOUD

      • KAG says:

I thought so at first, but unfortunately it’s true. It’s awful. But….kind of funny also.

There’s one thing about it, whether it’s joke, fake, BS or rock solid real. It didn’t cost the taxpayers a $15 million dollar Republican give away. I can tell you for sure that 15 million was real and really gone!

That’s real funny during a Biden administration spending spree.

From what I know about “bitcoin mining”, you don’t need lots of people as much as you need people to run very high powered computers…. And you sure don’t need to build a new facility for that…. You know, unless you are trying to get grant money to build a facility that will never be built…

Sounds like an aluminum rolling plant I heard of once. Everyone thought they were going to save Eastern Kentucky. They took the state and feds for as much economic development as they could and then they headed out!

    • KAG says:

Bevins is more than likely behind this that’s the republican’s playbook

    Go vote in November

They’re full of it if they’re saying a bitcoin farm would employee up to 200 people. MAYBE the construction of it, but not daily operations. For a bitcoin farm the size of the acreage VInce mentioned, you’d only need a handful of daily employees per shift. Running the place 24/7 would take 10-20 employees, max. Farms employ the minimum number of employees in order to maximize profits. It’s not a factory job, it’s not a traditional farm job–it’s all automated computers, and they only need people on-site for technical issues.
