Huntington, W. Va. — Tolsia Lady Rebel Freshman Katie Marcum was recently named to the Metro News All State and Herald Dispatch All Area Honorable Mention Basketball teams. Junior Julie Boone and Freshman Autumn Block joined her on the Herald Dispatch Honorable Mention All Area team.
Tolsia finished 13-11 this past season and were ousted in the sectional semifinals.
Marcum averaged 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals per contest. She had 27 and 14 against Chapmanville and 20 points, 14 rebounds and 3 steals against Lawrence Co.
Boone averaged 8 points and 6 rebounds per game and was a huge presence blocking shots on defense. She had 13 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals against Greenbriar West in a WV HIT contest.
Block averaged 9 points, 4.5 assists and 4 steals per game. She scored 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals against Rival Tug Valley.
All three ladies will back next year and the Lady Rebels should contend for a State Title berth. They also return Kyleah Pollinger, Selena Browning, Jace Litton and Kerigan Salmons.
