Louisa, Ky. — Lady Bulldog first baseman Mackenzie Methax hit two home runs to help Lawrence Co. ( 26-9 ) to an 8-3 victory over Floyd Central ( 12-17 ) to capture the 58th District title Wednesday evening at the LCHS Softball Complex.

Kassidy Cavins had 2 hits and scored twice, Abby Fletcher just missed a Home run and settled for a base hit, Amber Triplett, Savanah Wright and Kensley Feltner scored one run each.
Allie Triplett went all seven innings and struck out 11 to get the win in the circle.

Both teams will advance to the 15th Region Tournament which will be at Floyd Central with the draw coming Friday morning at Betsy Layne.
Lawrence Co. will play either Paintsville, Belfry or Shelby Valley/Pikeville loser in the first round.
Floyd Central will play either Johnson Central, Pike Co. Central or Shelby Valley/Pikeville winner in the first round.

“… Really happy with the win! …Started a little slow at the plate but we got it going later. Mackenzie Methax was on fire… Doubled and hit two home runs. Kassidy Cavins came up with a clutch hit to give us the lead. Allie Triplett did another fine job in the circle and Abby ” The Eraser” Fletcher threw two runners out. We sure missed Halli Caudill tonight, praying we will get her back soon.”
